New Car: 2011 Jaguar XKR175 Limited Edition

Jaguar is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year in style, thanks in part to special edition models such as this year's XKR 75. As the year-long party continues, the British marque is taking the wraps off its latest anniversary-themed creation -- the 2011 XKR175 -- at this weekend's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

The XKR 75 unveiled earlier this year sports a revised suspension, aerodynamics, and engine, and was engineered to be more of an ultimate expression of the brand. Modifications to the XKR175 are much less extensive, as the engine and suspension are left unchanged, but the car does get a revised aerodynamic package.

The XKR175 receives a new front air dam, side skirts, rear diffuser, and a larger spoiler -- the same changes available for the optional XKR Speed Pack. All of these changes help make the car more stable at speed by creating more downforce, and top speed rises accordingly from 155 to 174 mph. Powering the XKR175 is the same XKR's supercharged 5.0-liter V-8, which produces 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque, and is capable of moving the XKR175 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds.

No special-edition model is complete without a bespoke exterior and interior, and the XKR175 features a special Ultimate Black exterior paint color along with new 20-inch Kasuga wheels. Red brake calipers stand out to complete the exterior changes. The interior is a special affair and is swathed in special Warm Charcoal leather with contrasting cranberry stitching. Additional trim pieces are finished in Piano Black, and the door sills read "XKR175 -- 1 of 175" along with the vehicle's production number.

As its name hints, only 175 of these special XKRs will be produced. Each will carry an MSRP of $104,500 including destination, and should hit dealerships later this year.
