Detroit Show 2010 Highlights: 2011 Jeep Liberty Renegade

Positioned between the base and Limited trim levels, the new Liberty Renegade attempts to lend a more aggressive look to the Liberty by adding darkened headlamp bezels, silver trim bits, skid plates, tow hooks, and dark gray 16-inch wheels with white-letter tires. Interior upgrades include nicer cloth seats, “driftwood” accent bezels, a leather-wrapped center console and steering wheel, a vehicle info screen, and cruise control. Among the available paint colors is an exclusive Salsa Red Pearl, and the Renegade also comes with Jeep’s Selec-Trac active four-wheel drive system with two-speed transfer case and traction control. As with all Liberty models, the Renegade is powered by Chrysler’s cranky old 3.7-liter V-6 that produces 210 hp and 235 lb-ft of torque. The last-gen Liberty was also offered in Renegade spec; it featured a bank of roof-mounted off-road lights.
