Unofficial Picture: 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

As is so common these days, Lamborghini has carefully scheduled the release of photos and information pertaining to its upcoming Geneva debut, the long-awaited Murcielago successor. Unfortunately for Lambo, the automaker’s teaser images have just been usurped by this leaked frontal shot that leaves very little left to the imagination.

The photo, reputed to have been leaked from the pages of Evo Magazine Croatia, shows clear Reventon influence with an angular, jutting front fascia. Still overall, the body contours of the so-called Aventador LP700-4 are much more rounded than that of the Murcielago it replaces, while also appearing significantly wider. Just one frontal image has been revealed so far, and no official specs have been dropped.

All we know so far is that the car, likely to be the most advanced in Lamboghini history, will feature race-inspired pushrod-style front suspension, a curb weight of just 3472 lbs, and a 691-horsepower, 6.5-liter V-12 engine to push it all around with. As for the rest of the details, along with more photos, we’re still in the dark.

That means you’ll have to stay tuned for our live coverage of the Geneva Motor Show March 1 and 2 for the full scoop on this carbon-fiber-bodied, road rocket.
