BMW hasn't restyled its 6 Series since 2003. Yep, that's the year it was first released worldwide. So far, only slight touch-ups here and there were deemed enough until a complete redesign that's soon to arrive. Lucky for all, we have what is likely the best rendering of what the next 6 will look like when it hits dealers sometime later this year.
Like the current 5 Series, the two-door 6 -- codenamed the F13 -- gets slim xenon headlights on either side of a prominent kidney grille. Its rump becomes less Bangle-ized and sports smaller LED taillights. Keen eyes will notice the whole is very reminiscent of 2007's Concept CS. A twin-turbo mill from the X6 and 7 Series will likely send all power the rear wheels via a ZF eight-speed transmission.
Rumors persist that the convertible version coming after the coupe will utilize a folding hardtop much like the Z4 roadster (the prototype show is said to be a "decoy"). Of course, an M6 is in the works too, most likely with a the same 550-plus horsepower twin-turbo V-8 from the next-gen M5.
