A reader recently spotted these two mules of the next-generation 2011 Honda Odyssey taking a break at a rest stop off Interstate 5 near the Tejon pass just north of Los Angeles. Unsurprisingly, the lightly camouflaged prototypes bear a close resemblance to the near-production concept Honda showed in February at the Chicago Auto Show.
Expected to arrive this fall, the 2011 Odyssey loses the concept's tiny mirrors and receives more conventional rocker panels as well as (presumably) conventional headlamps and foglamps. Powertain info is still kept tightly under wraps, but expect Honda's 3.5-liter V-6 with the possibility of an I-4 to compete with the redesigned 2011 Toyota Sienna in the fuel-economy race.
